Meet Jay Su, President
As President of APL Inc., Jay Su has spent more than three decades helping the insurance industry solve one of its most complex operational challenges. His journey began in the late 1980s after graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in Computer Science & Engineering. Jay began his career at American Service Life Insurance Company, a pivotal opportunity for which he thanks his mentors, Bill Smallwood and Jim Lackey, who opened the door and generously showed him the inner workings of the business.
This powerful combination of technical expertise and deep industry mentorship ultimately shaped his vision for APL. Since founding the company in January 2000, Jay has kept the Arlington-based organization focused on a singular mission: providing life and health insurance agencies with reliable, automated solutions that simplify managing agent networks and paying commissions.
Over the years, Jay and the APL team have proudly serviced hundreds of clients, ranging from multi-billion-dollar insurance carriers to local, family-owned “mom and pop” operations. He believes robust technology must always be backed by exceptional reliability, and he works closely with his team to ensure every client – regardless of size – has the precise, state-of-the-art software infrastructure they need to scale confidently.

Alison brings more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare commission software industry as Vice President of APL. With a deep understanding of the industry and the needs of insurance carriers and agencies, she has played an important role in APL’s growth and success over the years.
Since joining APL, Alison has worked closely with the product development team, helping build and maintain the lasting client relationships central to the company’s success. Her years of experience have given her a firsthand understanding of the challenges insurance organizations face and the importance of providing reliable software backed by responsive, personal service.
Having been part of APL for many years, Alison takes pride in the relationships she has built and the role she continues to play in serving APL’s clients. Her experience, dedication, and business knowledge make her an integral part of what APL is today.
